Detailed Description

An elongated plate comprised of sharp, lustrous hematite crystals (in the style of hematite roses, viewed edge-on), stacked with each other in a cluster of intergrown crystals. Excellent condition – some incomplete crystals around the periphery where it was removed from the surrounding rock. High quality, distinctive specimen.

About these Hematites

These fine hematite specimens were excavated from a deposit in the hills extremely close to the town of Saint-Marie-aux-Mines.
