Hematite, Quartz

Specimen # 200728
Mineral: Hematite, Quartz
Location: Jinlong Hill, Longchuan, Guangdong, China
Size: 9.7 x 6.9 x 6.4 cm

Description

This is a cool piece! It features a central ball of hematite blades, coated in microscopic quartz crystals, surrounded by a forest of tall quartz crystals. The hematite crystals are preserved by the quartz and are in perfect condition. The quartz crystals are coloured by iron oxide inclusions and coatings, and the second-generation quartz crystals coating the hematites are also present in some areas of the larger quartz crystals. In excellent condition – one incomplete quartz low in the front Gerald Panneton collection. Looks great, supported to stand as photographed – this is a dramatic specimen!
