Detailed Description

This one is different – the entire specimen has later-stage cream-coloured translucent calcite crystals all around it.  The magnetite crystals are sharp and lustrous with some mirror-bright faces, and are accompanied by small green epidote crystals.  In excellent condition – no damage other than some minor missing epidotes and a small chip to one o the smaller calcites, facing away from the display side.  Cute piece with nice contrast.

About These Magnetites

The finest quality magnetite crystals from the famous iron deposits at Dashkesan are among the nicest magnetite specimens from anywhere. These magnetite crystals are particularly special because they feature predominantly the dodecahedron, modified by triangular octahedral faces – they are different from more typical octahedral magnetite crystals.
