Prehnite

Specimen # 102569
Mineral: Prehnite
Location: Taza, Fès-Meknès, Morocco
Size: 5.2 x 5.0 x 3.8 cm

Description

Radiating crystal groups of prehnite, all grouped together, this piece is made up of the terminations of all of the prehnite fans. The prehnite crystals are sharp and glassy – great lustre and very nice light green colour. In excellent condition, no damage as displayed (a few incomplete crystals around the right side, out of view from the front. Stabilized from behind/underneath to preserve it intact (not visible except if you examine the underside). Minor quartz in association (coloured by hematite). A great prehnite – beautiful crystals!

Please note: these prehnite photographs are colour-balanced to daylight (sunny day, shade – same as all photos on the website). The hue of prehnite certainly depending on the light source – under a warmer light (for example, a 50W halogen bulb), they are a warmer shade of light green.
