Quartz

Specimen # 200630
Mineral: Quartz
Location: Corinto, Minas Gerais, Brazil
Size: 8.7 x 4.6 x 4.3 cm

Description

A particularly aesthetic group of quartz crystals from the John S. White quartz collection (#27-2-13). The specimen is complete, including underneath where it shows signs of having split from its original location and recrystallized. The main two crystals on the piece have etch pits on alternating prism faces – a very curious feature. They are water-clear, so these surface patterns are easily visible through the crystals. In excellent condition, a couple of tiny chips. This is a really nice – and fascinating – piece!
