Quartz

Specimen # 200634
Mineral: Quartz
Location: Sierra Negra, Patrocino, Minas Gerais, Brazil
Size: 6.4 x 6.2 x 4.5 cm

Description

This quartz crystal is comprised of two generations of growth. The internal core is a typical, essentially transparent and colourless homogenous crystal. The second generation shows a complex second generation growth, exhibiting an unusual parallel-growth set of terminations, with raised, almost skeletal-looking, edges. Very cool! From the quartz collection of John S. White (#27-2-1), who acquired it from Peter Megaw. Both labels accompany the specimen.
