Quartz

Specimen # 201073
Mineral: Quartz
Location: Gold Lakes, Little Giant Basin, San Juan Co., Colorado, USA
Size: 5.6 x 5.3 x 3.7 cm

Description

This is a beautiful, intricately crystallized quartz specimen from the John S. White collection – he personally collected it on September 7, 1999. Upon close inspection, many of these Tessin-habit quartz crystals are terminated with a reverse-sceptre. Adding interest, there are small hollows in a few spots that appear to be casts after calcite crystals. This specimen is in excellent condition. A beauty!
