Quartz (Faden)

Specimen # 201076
Mineral: Quartz (Faden)
Location: Kharan District, Balochistan, Pakistan
Size: 11.9 x 5.1 x 1.5 cm

Description

This is an awesome faden quartz! The faden is as bold as they come, and truly looks like a tornado down the middle of the crystal. in contrast to faden quartz growths where one can easily see separation of crystals along the line (particularly where the faden evidences displacement, such as in a curved line) the main body of this faden is a single, virtually-straight, continuous crystal with almost no additional faces. In excellent condition, with some chipping (minor in the context of the specimen). From the John S. White collection, a great faden quartz.
