Detailed Description
Slender light green quartz crystals on purple fluorite with pyrite crystals from the Shangbao Mine. The quartz crystals have multitudes of tiny parallel crystals on their surfaces, and some of them have multiple of these small crystals at their terminations, giving those a somewhat feathery-termination look. In excellent condition. The colour contrast on this one is really nice! A fine specimen from the John S. White collection.
About the Shangbao Mine
The Shangbao Mine, which is nestled in a bamboo forest, was originally a small pyrite ore operation. However, commercial mining operations ended decades ago and for many years has been operated for specimens. Today the Shangbao Mine is widely regarded as one of China’s great mineral localities.
