Quartz (Rutilated), Hematite

Specimen # 201013
Mineral: Quartz (Rutilated), Hematite
Location: Changjiang Ore Field, Renhua Co., Shaoguan, Guangdong, China
Size: 9.0 x 6.0 x 4.4 cm

Description

This specimen features Cumberland habit rutilated quartz crystals on balls of bladed hematite crystals. The quartz crystals are sharp and highly lustrous, with nice orange colour. The inclusions (which I assume are rutile, but have not been tested) are delicate, curved filament-like crystals easily visible with a loupe.  This piece is in very good condition, a couple of incomplete crystals at the periphery.  A unique, beautiful specimen from the John White quartz collection.
