Quartz, Inclusions

Specimen # 201039
Mineral: Quartz, Inclusions
Location: Guangxi Zhuang A.R., China
Size: 6.0 x 2.0 x 1.6 cm

Description

A sharp, lustrous quartz crystal with green fibrous inclusions. The inclusions form a column up the middle of the quartz crystal, and the column isn’t straight – it looks a bit like a green tornado. The inclusions have been analyzed using Raman by John Rakovan – analysis was conducted through the prism face and also where they are exposed at the cut base, but no definitive identification was possible with this method. In very good condition, minor chipping (and the bottom is not terminated). A completely distinctive quartz inclusion specimen from the John S .White quartz collection.
