Quartz var. Scenic Jasper

Specimen # 102833
Mineral: Quartz var. Scenic Jasper
Location: Sierra Madre, approximately 100 miles N. of Copper Canyon, W. Chihuahua, Mexico
Size: 11.5 x 7.2 x 1.4 cm

Description

A striking specimen: this is a cut and polished section of scenic jasper with a bold colour change in the middle. On the left-hand side, the banding has obvious iron-induced colouring –  a combination of cream, yellowish, reddish and maroon. A stark dividing-line sets apart the right-hand side, of mostly greys and creams. Topped with quartz crystals, it is a cool and unique piece from the John S. White quartz collection! (#17-9-5)
