Gorgeous realgar crystals from the locality that produced the world’s finest, the Jiepayu Mine, Shimen, China in the early 1990s. These crystals are stunning – they are transparent, intense red, sharp and lustrous – on a matrix that includes calcite crystals. The main crystals are in excellent condition (a couple of incomplete peripheral crystals).

From the collection of the well known crystallographer Pete Richards. Pete acquired this specimen in 1992, soon after the find had just been made.

These are top calibre realgar crystals!
