Rhodochrosite (Twinned)

Specimen # 101357
Mineral: Rhodochrosite (Twinned)
Location: Rhodochrosite, Mont Saint-Hilaire, Quebec, Canada
Size: 2.5 x 2.3 x 2.2 cm

Description

This is a cluster of sharp, flat twinned crystals of rhodochrosite from the 2004 rhodochrosite-elpidite pocket. The crystals are nice pink and red hues, with colour zoning, modest translucence and the slightly frosted lustre that was typical of this pocket. In excellent condition – no damage, one contact, along the right edge, below the main crystals. A very nice Mont Saint-Hilaire rhodochrosite.
