Mineral: Rhodonite
Location: Rhodonite, San Martin Mine, Chirucu, Huallanca, Bolognesi Province, Ancash Dept., Peru

Description

This is a gorgeous cluster of rhodonite crystals from one of the best finds of rhodonite known, several years ago (the locality is no longer producing and not expected to produce again). The lustrous, bladed rhodonite crystals are a very fine medium-pink colour, with sharp terminations and striated prism faces. They are dusted with sparkling micro quartz crystals. In excellent condition – one incomplete crystal at upper right and some incomplete ones along the bottom edge where this specimen was attached. A superb rhodonite specimen.
