Rutile

Specimen # 200084
Mineral: Rutile
Location: Diamantina, Jequitinhonha Valley, Minas Gerais, Brazil
Size: 1.6 x 1.3 x 0.7 cm

Description

This gorgeous little rutile specimen is comprised of a principal crystals joined together by a reticulated twinning lattice. At first glance, the larger lower crystal looks like it could be a cyclic twin, but in fact this pattern is also the reticulated twinning. In excellent condition, one chip. Really sweet.

This is a John White reference specimen and his label is included with it.
