Smithsonite

Specimen # 100841
Mineral: Smithsonite
Location: Smithsonite, Tsumeb Mine, Otjikoto Region, Namibia
Size: 5.7 x 3.0 x 2.7 cm

Description

A group of translucent cream-coloured smithsonite crystal aggregates, this specimen sparkles with a myriad of lustrous crystal faces. Some micro green inclusions – I suspect that they are dioptase but have not had them tested, and this specimen is from an old collection with no notation about the inclusions. In excellent condition – no damage, just some incomplete crystals at the periphery where this piece was attached to the surrounding rock. A beautiful bright smithsonite.
