Stilbite, Chabazite

Specimen # 100655
Mineral: Stilbite, Chabazite
Location: Wasson's Bluff, Cumberland Co., Nova Scotia, Canada
Size: 8.0 x 5.8 x 3.2 cm

Description

A highly distinctive specimen, this piece features deep honey-golden-brown clusters of stilbite crystals perched on a cream-coloured siliceous matrix. There are small orangey-brown chabazite crystals in association as well. In excellent condition – two incomplete stilbite groups at the rear periphery of the specimen as I would display this and a couple of incomplete chabazites around the edges. The main stilbites are completely undamaged and of exceptional quality. From the collection of well-known Nova Scotia collector Terry Collett (catalogued as specimen TCNS254), this specimen was originally collected by John Miller in 2005.

This is a gorgeous display piece that looks nothing like common pale stilbite – the contrast and colour give it super aesthetics!
