Tennantite

Specimen # 100840
Mineral: Tennantite
Location: Tennantite, Tsumeb Mine, Otjikoto Region, Namibia
Size: 5.2 x 4.7 x 4.0 cm

Description

The well-defined dark grey crystals of tennantite stand out well in contrast to the quartz crystals on this piece. The tennantite crystals measure up to 1.1 cm. In very good condition – the largest crystal has a small nick to the back of a corner (not visible from the display angle) and there are minor incomplete crystals on the piece which do not distract from the main crystals. The contast makes this one – it is an aesthetic specimen, whereas many Tsumeb tennantites are less so.
