Thomsonite

Specimen # 102615
Mineral: Thomsonite
Location: Cap D'Or, Cumberland Co., Nova Scotia, Canada
Size: 4.4 x 4.4 x 3.5 cm

Description

This piece features two ball-like aggregates of sharp thomsonite crystals, associated with stilbite crystals and tiny sparkling heulandite crystals. (This is thomsonite-Ca.) The thomsonite crystals are  easily seen projecting into the protected space in the middle of the specimen – they are sharp. In excellent condition – no damage – the thomsonite balls look uneven because they grew with interruptions from the other zeolite minerals. This specimen is from the small 2020 find.
