Thomsonite

Specimen # 102606
Mineral: Thomsonite
Location: Cap D'Or, Cumberland Co., Nova Scotia, Canada
Size: 4.1 x 3.0 x 2.4 cm

Description

A beautiful thomsonite from the small 2020 find. It is comprised of one larger ball of thomsonite crystals upon a smaller partial ball of thomsonite crystals intergrown with stilblite crystals.  With magnification, one can see a myriad of bladed individual thomsonite crystals, some radiating outwards in the general aspect of the ball of crystals, and also many tiny crystals jumbled in all directions on the surface of the ball.

In excellent condition – no damage. A superb Canadian thomsonite.

(These are thomsonite-Ca.)
