Thomsonite

Specimen # 102613
Mineral: Thomsonite
Location: Cap D'Or, Cumberland Co., Nova Scotia, Canada
Size: 3.7 x 3.0 x 2.5 cm

Description

Two stacked thomsonite balls with stilbite crystals. The thomsonite crystals are lustrous and individual crystals are easily discerned. (This is thomsonite-Ca.) The thomsonite crystals radiate from the centre of the balls outward, but a myriad of tiny crystals in all directions cover the surfaces of each ball.  The stilbite blades are sharp with great lustre. In excellent condition – no damage – and stands perfectly for display as photographed. A really sweet specimen from the small 2020 find.
