Zircon

Specimen # 100352
Mineral: Zircon
Location: Thanas, nr. Khapalu, Ghanghe District, Gilgit-Baltistan, N.A., Pakistan
Size: 5.5 x 4.5 x 3.1 cm

Description

This is a remarkable piece – the colours really are as photographed. The red in the small crystal is as good a red as I have ever seen in a zircon. Both crystals have some colour zoning – the larger one trends to a very pleasant pale colour at the termination. The larger crystal measures 1.1 cm across and 1.7 cm long. Fantastic zircon specimen.
