Grossular Garnet

Specimen # 200263
Mineral: Grossular Garnet
Location: Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos, Estrie, Quebec, Canada
Size: 3.5 x 2.4 x 2.1 cm

Description

A beautiful light orange grossular crystal is perched at the top of this specimen. It is a sharp, simple dodecahedron, translucent with some transparency and great internal play of light. The top crystal is in excellent condition, as is the specimen itself from the front viewing angle (on the left of the piece a crystal is missing, and on the right some of the crystals have contact where they were attached). A fine Jeffrey Mine grossular from the Steve Szilard collection.
