Arsenopyrite

Specimen # 102733
Mineral: Arsenopyrite
Location: Yaogangxian Mine, Yizhang Co., Chenzhou Prefecture, Hunan Province, China
Size: 3.7 x 3.5 x 2.2 cm

Description

These doubly-terminated, parallel-growth arsenopyrite crystals are sharp! Incredibly well-defined, with good lustre and a bit of a patina at the terminations. In excellent condition, with minor muscovite in association. From the Tracy Kimmel collection – specifically her sub-collection of arsenic-bearing minerals – this is a beauty!
