Azurite

Specimen # 200655
Mineral: Azurite
Location: Tsumeb Mine, Otjikoto Region, Namibia
Size: 2.4 x 2.0 x 1.0 cm

Description

A wonderful old classic from Tsumeb, this is a razor-sharp, lustrous azurite crystal, partially pseudomorphed to malachite. Super blue colour, not as dark as some other typical Tsumeb azurites. In excellent condition, with tiny edge chips. From the Pete Richards Collection, #950 – his catalogue notes that this specimen was previously in the Lazard Cahn collection. A beauty!
