Columbite-(Fe)

Specimen # 200587
Mineral: Columbite-(Fe)
Location: Giles Columbite-Beryl Pegmatite, Spargoville, Coolgardie Shire, Western Australia, Australia
Size: 4.0 x 1.7 x 1.4 cm

Description

A very sharp crystal of columbite-(Fe) from Spargoville. This crystal (singly-terminated) is super – it has a great termination and smooth, well-developed prism faces. It formed in granite, and so it was never fully developed around the back – it does have a number of roughly crystallized surfaces around back, but it is a specimen that is appreciated from the front – looks superb as displayed. From the Pete Richards collection (#5592), a very fine Australian columbite-(Fe).
