Dioptase

Specimen # 200447
Mineral: Dioptase
Location: Tsumeb Mine, Otjikoto Region, Namibia
Size: 4.4 x 3.6 x 3.0 cm

Description

Sharp, lustrous green dioptase crystals on contrasting white calcite from Tsumeb. The dioptase crystals are glassy and intense. In excellent condition – there are a few incomplete crystals (including a crystal at top left is incomplete at the back) and the base of the specimen is cut with a saw to sit perfectly. Looks great the way the dioptase crystals are perched up at the top of the piece. From the Pete Richards collection (#533), a beautiful dioptase with super contrast.
