Edingtonite

Specimen # 200281
Mineral: Galena
Location: Ice River Alkaline Complex, Golden Mining Division, British Columbia, Canada
Size: 3.8 x 3.6 x 2.8 cm

Description

Wonderful sharp crystals of edingtonite with calcite from the fairly remote Ice River Alkaline Complex in the B.C. Rocky Mountains. These specimens came out decades ago, and are not often available these days. Edingtonite is an uncommon zeolite mineral, with good crystals known from few localities. These crystals have super form and great lustre, and are draped over and around underlying calcite crystals. In excellent condition, with some incomplete areas around the margins. From the Steve Szilard collection, beautiful crystals of a pretty rare zeolite mineral.
