Elbaite Tourmaline

Specimen # 200497
Mineral: Elbaite Tourmaline
Location: Morro Redondo Mine, Coronel Murta, Minas Gerais, Brazil
Size: 2.6 x 0.7 x 0.7 cm

Description

From the famous 1994 pocket zone at the Morro Redondo Mine, this is a superb gem tourmaline crystal. It is sharp and lustrous with colour zoning from pink to green at the termination. The termination is fantastic and complex, as were the best from this find. In excellent condition, one very small chip at one edge at the top of one of the prism faces – not significant and easily out of view as displayed.

From the Pete Richards collection, this is a killer!
