Pyromorphite

Specimen # 200440
Mineral: Pyromorphite
Location: Daoping Mine, Gongcheng Co., Guangxi Zhuang A.R., China
Size: 4.0 x 3.3 x 2.1 cm

Description

A gorgeous, delicate pyromorphite specimen with sharp crystals so lustrous they look wet. The crystals have pinacoidal terminations, and in some cases, with magnification, one can see further crystallization, almost as if with little rosettes.  The colour of the crystals is a bright green, and they are translucent with some transparency. In excellent condition – a couple of small incomplete crystals are visible with magnification. This specimen is from the Pete Richards collection (#5595). A beautiful, colourful specimen!
