Location: Little Cahuilla Mountain, Riverside Co., California, USA
Size: 3.9 x 1.4 x 1.2 cm

Description

A beautiful crystal of black tourmaline. This schorl crystal is sharp and the striated prism faces have great lustre. The termination is comprised of the forms {10-11} and {01-12}. In excellent condition, no damage (except to one edge of a prism face, which is at the back and out of view as displayed). From the Pete Richards collection, acquired in January 1989.

An interesting note about this specimen – it was used as the basis for a crystal drawing by Pete that was published in Rocks & Minerals,63:6, pp. 440-446.
