Wulfenite

Specimen # 200466
Mineral: Wulfenite
Location: Old Yuma Mine, Saguaro National Monument, Pima Co.,, Arizona, USA
Size: 4.2 x 3.3 x 1.3 cm

Description

This is a large wulfenite! It is a beautiful orange, with parallel growth faces, sharp and with good lustre. From the Pete Richards collection, this piece was collected by Gene Schlepp in 1969 and acquired by Pete in June, 1984. These finds are described in the book Collecting Arizona. This specimen is repaired – the repair line has crystallized faces on either side of it where visible, so it is mostly a natural line – it is so well done and inconspicuous that Pete had forgotten it was repaired at all (it’s noted in the catalogue). The specimen is a floater and in excellent condition. A superb orange wulfenite!
