Wulfenite, Mimetite

Specimen # 102831
Mineral: Wulfenite, Mimetite
Location: Ojuela Mine, Mapimí, Durango, Mexico
Size: 3.8 x 3.7 x 2.9 cm

Description

A wonderful miniature from the 2008 wulfenite-mimetite find at Ojuela. This find was known for the unusual elongated blocky habit of the wulfenite crystals and the association with mimetite. This piece hosts sharp, lustrous, pristine wulfenite crystals of the top orange colour for the find, in association with mimetite balls of the top green colour for the find. The wulfenite crystals are incredibly glossy. The colours of this specimen are more accurately represented (daylight) in the still photos than in the video clip. In excellent condition. The specimen is mounted on an acrylic base – I can certainly remove it if you’d prefer – just let me know. From the Tracy Kimmel collection – a beautiful, colourful specimen.
