Both of the doubly-terminated quartz crystals that make up this piece contain slender, elegant sprays of golden needlelike rutile crystals. Both enclosed rutile crystal groups exceed 5 cm in length. The quartz crystals are light smoky, sharp and have a nice lustre, with a myriad of fine crystal growth patterns and striations, and sparkling micro-quartz. In excellent condition overall, with minor chipping in a couple of places, and larger chipping on one edge (some of which is natural and re-crystallized) – depending on how you orient the piece for display, these may not be in view.

This rutilated quartz is distinctive for the two doubly-terminated crystals and the good-size of the enclosed rutile crystals. Very nice.
