And we’re back! Springtime in the woods! Rochester! Except… of course we are not fully back. Stay-at-home orders, lockdowns and closed borders continue. No worries – we figured this out last year! So, the 48th annual Rochester Mineralogical Symposium was once again an online event, the eRMS 2021.

Rochester 2020! Whoo hoo! The arrival of spring and our annual fun times in Rochester! True, we had no choice and had to cancel the Rochester Mineralogical Symposium in Rochester April 23-26, 2020. But It turns out that the spirit of Rochester is not so easily defeated…

After a long, harsh northern winter, most people in this part of the world look to the arrival of the red-winged blackbirds and robins, buds and flowers to mark the arrival of spring. But let’s be honest, spring only truly arrives with “Rochester” (the annual Rochester Mineralogical Symposium). Rochester is for people who love minerals and mineral collecting – if you’d like to see more about this year’s symposium (including photographs from the presenters), I hope you’ll enjoy this post.
